Advanced Nurse Practitioner
GP Surgery - Hailsham, East Sussex
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum
Hours: Part-Time / Full-Time
Contract: Permanent
Job Summary
An established GP surgery in Hailsham is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) with independent prescribing rights to join a supportive, forward-thinking multidisciplinary team. The post holder will act as a first point of contact for patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions, providing high-quality, patient-centred care in both the surgery and patients' homes.
Main Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients with undifferentiated presentations
- Manage acute and chronic conditions using evidence-based clinical practice
- Prescribe and review medication in line with PGDs and independent prescribing guidance
- Provide urgent and emergency care where appropriate
- Undertake home visits for housebound patients
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records
- Work autonomously with access to GP support as required
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers and the wider healthcare team
About the Practice
The surgery serves approximately 6,600 patients and is part of a local Primary Care Network (PCN) alongside neighbouring GP surgeries. The multidisciplinary team includes GP partners, salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, practice nurses and phlebotomists. Person Specification
Essential
- Registered Nurse (NMC)
- Independent Nurse Prescriber
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Significant post-registration experience including assessment, diagnostics and minor illness/injury
- Recent experience in an acute or community setting
Desirable
- Experience working in primary care
- Experience in a GP practice
