Prescribing Practitioner

(Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Paramedic Practitioner)

Location: Bath, BA1
Closing date: 31st July 2025
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum
Working days: Ideally 2 days per week (Thursday & Friday)

Healthii People are working on behalf of a well-established and forward-thinking GP practice in Bath to recruit a Prescribing Practitioner.

We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and collaborative clinician-ideally an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Paramedic Practitioner-to join a supportive and welcoming clinical team.

What is the role?

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Make professional, autonomous decisions for patients-whether self-referred or triaged from other healthcare professionals.
  • Assess and manage patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Provide care across a range of settings-surgery consultations, video/telephone consultations, and home visits.
  • Develop care plans in line with current best practice and disease management protocols.
  • Provide health education and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
  • Prescribe in line with the practice formulary (or generically when appropriate).
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes and collect data for audits.
  • Authorise and issue repeat prescriptions and manage clinical queries.

  • Supported by a multidisciplinary team, including an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Community Matron, clinical pharmacy team, and paramedic home visiting service.
