Paramedic GP Surgery

Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Contract: Part-time - 27 hours per week (days/hours discussed at interview)
Salary: £50,000 per annum (pro rata)

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paramedic to join a multidisciplinary team in a GP surgery in Yeovil, Somerset.

You will provide care for acutely presenting patients in a same-day urgent care setting, working within clinical pathways and professional guidelines.

Main responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based care including history taking, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
• Demonstrate expert clinical decision-making and risk management.
• Support patients with acute presentations within general practice and urgent care environments.
• Work collaboratively with the practice team to deliver high-quality care and service.
• Ensure compliance with NMC/HCPC professional standards for advanced practice.

Person specification

Essential qualifications & registration

• Qualified Paramedic or Specialist Paramedic registered with the HCPC
• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
• A-levels (or equivalent qualifications)

Desirable

• Diploma or degree in a healthcare-related field

Essential skills & experience

• Minimum 5 years paramedic work experience
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of the primary care operating environment
• Evidence of ongoing CPD
• IT literacy and ability to adapt to digital systems
• Experience of working in a clinical/nursing team and managing vulnerable patients

Desirable

• Experience working in primary care or GP practice
• Knowledge of new care models in primary care
• Familiarity with EMIS systems
