Practice Nurse

Location: Andover (with excellent links to Winchester and Salisbury)
Hours: 25 to 37.5 hours per week (option to work 37.5 hours over 4 days)
Salary: £23-£27 per hour (dependent on experience)

About the Role

Healthii People are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established GP practice in Andover to recruit a dedicated and proactive Practice Nurse with a special interest in Asthma and COPD management.

The successful candidate will join a friendly, supportive, and multidisciplinary clinical team committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care to a practice population of approximately 13,300 patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in line with current clinical guidelines.
• Review, assess, and manage patients with asthma and COPD.
• Support the practice in achieving and maintaining QOF and enhanced service targets.
• Undertake general treatment room duties, including immunisations, screening, and health promotion.
• Contribute to the development and monitoring of clinical standards and outcomes.
• Participate in health promotion programmes and screening initiatives for patients and carers.
• Ensure the safe storage and administration of medicines and equipment.
• Provide patient information, advice, and support both in person and via telephone consultations.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent continuity of care.
• Actively participate in team meetings and audits to drive quality improvement and best practice.

About You

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
• Experience in Primary Care (essential).
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Confident clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to adapt to change and contribute to service development.
• Knowledge of local and national health policies.
• Competent in IT systems (EMIS Web experience desirable; Word, Excel, and email essential).
• Motivated, flexible, and team-oriented.
• Independent Prescribing qualification desirable but not essential.
