Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Hours: Part-Time / Full-Time (negotiable, flexible working supported)

Job Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a friendly, forward-thinking, rural GP practice in East Bridgford, Nottingham, serving approximately 8,000 patients. The medical centre is based in modern, purpose-built premises and has a supportive multi-disciplinary primary care team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Practice Nurse will work within an established nursing team to provide high-quality, evidence-based, accessible care. Duties include:

  • Treatment room care: wound management, venepuncture, ear irrigation, ECGs, injections, urinalysis.
  • Minor illness/injury management: assessment, treatment, referral/discharge per protocols.
  • Immunisations: childhood and adult vaccinations in line with the UK schedule.
  • Women's health: cervical screening, contraception, sexual health, coil checks, menopause support.
  • Travel health: vaccinations, malaria prophylaxis, and basic travel advice.
  • Screening & health checks: new patient checks, elderly screening, lifestyle advice.
  • Chronic disease management: CHD, asthma, COPD (including spirometry), diabetes, hypertension.
  • Clinical governance: accurate record-keeping, audits, infection control, and safe practice.
  • Professional contribution: teaching/supervision of HCAs, phlebotomists, students; attending meetings and training; participating in PCN-level work when delegated.
