Practice Nurse (GP Surgery)

Location: Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan
Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time (28-37.5 hours per week, with the option to work 37.5 hours over 4 days)
Salary: Up to £46,500 per annum
Closing date: Tuesday 31st March 2026

A busy GP practice is seeking a motivated and proactive Practice Nurse to join its clinical team. Applications are welcomed from experienced practice nurses and those with minor illness/ANP skills.

Main Duties

• Cervical cytology
• Childhood and travel immunisations
• Chronic disease management (e.g. asthma, diabetes, COPD, hypertension)
• Wound care and ECGs
• INR/warfarin monitoring
• Health promotion and women's health
• Running nurse-led clinics (e.g. flu, family planning)
• Supporting quality improvement projects

Role Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centred nursing care in clinic (and occasional home visits)
• Manage long-term conditions and patient recall systems
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to performance targets
• Work collaboratively with the wider primary care team

About the Practice

• Serves approximately 8,000+ patients
• Multidisciplinary team including GPs, ANP, nurse, pharmacist, and admin staff
• Active involvement in training and development of clinical staff
• Based in a modern, purpose-built health centre with parking

Requirements

Essential:

• Registered Nurse
• Experience in general practice nursing
• Chronic disease management skills
