Lead General Practice Nurse

Location: Maidstone, Kent
Contract: Part-time or Full-time
Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead General Practice Nurse to join our friendly, forward-thinking GP practice in Maidstone. This is a key leadership role, providing safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to our 10,000+ patients while leading and developing a small nursing team of 2 HCAs and 1 Nurse Associate.

You will deliver high-quality care across a wide range of services, lead nurse-led chronic disease management, and contribute to practice performance and service development.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage a small nursing team (2 HCAs, 1 Nurse Associate).
• Provide evidence-based care for acute and chronic conditions.
• Deliver nurse-led clinics (diabetes, asthma, COPD, CHD).
• Provide immunisations, cytology, wound care, travel health advice, and health screening.
• Support minor surgery and health promotion.
• Mentor, support, and appraise colleagues.
• Contribute to quality improvement and service development.

About You

• Registered Adult Nurse with NMC registration.
• 5+ years post-registration experience, including at least 2 years in primary care.
• Skilled in chronic disease management, immunisations, cytology, and wound care (ABPI).
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Teaching/mentorship experience.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.
• Desirable: Prescribing qualification, specialist training (e.g., diabetes, asthma, cytology, travel health).
